I'm really, really impressed with your music, band, the production of the songs, everything! It's quite refreshing to hear beautifully-crafted ear candy, and your videos on your myspace website are very convincing that the band is in it for the long-haul.

I'm going to refer some of the less-serious bands to your site, because your national show-radar and GPS locator :-) is quite the eye-opener about how much work it really takes to make it. I'm not trying to discourage other groups trying to achieve their goals, I just want them to see how far they need to be willing to go.

As far as I'm concerned, the Siri Dyal Band has already made it to the top in a lot of respects. I dream of having some kind of A&R division at Sweetwater (maybe Sweetwater Records someday), but in the meantime, if I ever get wind of anything heavy-hitting and major, Jeff Green (your Sales Engineer) and I will be sure to tell you.

Hats off to you, and GOOD LUCK October 7th, we'll be thinking about ya!

California is kind of Interesting
by David Rodgers

" ...While walking I ran across the most ironic thing I have ever seen. Rodeo Drive is known around the world as the shopping destination of the elite but there was a 50-60ish homeless woman asleep on a pristine white step in front of one of the buildings. It was absolutely surreal and I had to take a picture. Getting back into the car and ready to leave I heard music thumping from around the corner. I went to check it out and found a club called “The Back Stage Club”. It is a very small club where the band plays in the middle of an upper deck. You have complete access to them to chat between sets or whatever. The space was limited and I kept getting bumped into. Some local people saw that I was getting squashed into a corner and invited me to sit down at their table and hang out. We listened the music, ate appetizers and BS’d for a couple of hours. Tonight there was a local 4 piece band called “Siri Dyal” that rocked. Their base player was an absolute magician. I got to have a few drinks and BS with him and the other band members before the night was over. After last call the people I was hanging out with invited me to come back to their place and party but I figured 3AM was a good time to call it quits when I had to be up for work at 8. On my way out I had to stop and take a picture of the Beverly Hills PD sign for posterity."

Local trio plays 'world soul'
by Greg Simms Jr. (grsimms@DaytonDailyNews.com)
Dayton Daily News - July 4, 2003

DAYTON - Beautiful. Sexy. Passionate. That's the sound of the Siri Dyal Band, named after its charismatic lead singer. The trio is made up members from Brookville and Dayton and is managed by local manage- ment firm/music label Unified Media. The group members are Siri Dyal, Wes Claggett and Rob "Bass" Taylor. The group is on a two-month tour of Seattle, Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles. Before the trip, the group sat down at a local bar and grill to answer some questions. In most cases, Dyal did the talking.

Q. What does the name Siri Dyal mean?
A. It means great mercy and compassion in Hindu.

Q. How did the band come up with the name?
A. It's my name.

Q. Hw did you guys all get together?
A. I (Dyal) was out here on the Midwest leg of the Master P / Little
Romeo tour with my friend Chance, helping her with her show. In
between shows, I was recording my project. I popped up at Refraze
recording studios (in Kettering) to work, and Wes was an engineer
out there. He heard my song, and he said he liked it. He said, "Do
you need a band?" And I thought, "That sounds cool!" I said, "Cool,
here's my music. See what you think, see if you can learn it, and I'll
check with you when I get back from doing my shows." They
(Claggett and Taylor) learned the songs, and it was instant chemistry.
We were also called the SDB.

Q. How would you guys describe your sound?
A. World soul. World rock and soul. Wes has an '80s music influence.
Both of my parents are jazz musicians. And Robby is just straight
funk. The Combination of us is unique. And people really like it.

Q. Siri, you were in a movie. Tell us about it.
A. Here we go! (Siri laughs) The movie was a straight-to-video film
called Phat Beach. I auditioned for it, and I got it. I played Candis,
the dream girl. I taunted the lead, Huggy. It was fun. We shot it in
December of that year. At a beach. We got a lot of attention
because it was the first African-American beach movie ever made.
I had a song on the movie called Surrender, as well.

Q. Are you guys signed to a label?
A. We're signed to (Dyal's) label, Serious Records. We're locally
distributed. We're working with Reggie Young, who is our regional
     manager.

Q. So, what's the ultimate goal for the Siri Dyal Band?
A. The ultimate goal is to get a major distribution deal for Serious
Records and sign Dayton and outer-Dayton talent because this city
is so rich with talent and they don't know what to do with it. My first
act I want to sign will be out of Dayton. And, hopefully, we can get
our debut album out by spring 2004.

Oh man where do I start, I went to the Evanescence concert Feb 25,2003. 3 Bands!! Are you kidding? I didn't like blue Karma. The Siri Dyal Band was the Bizzomb!!! Where can I see them again? Hey Fusion, you need to have them back as the Head-lining band, get Evanescence to open up for them this time!! Or you can just have the SDB play, I am sure you can pack the place out!!!

I have been to there website and I know you can hear their MP3's from the site. Why don't you check them out and get them back at Fusion!!! www.siridyalband.itgo.com

Siri Dyal Band

Reviews for Fusion Grill: - March 1, 2003

Hi,

First time to your establishment. Came to hear Evanescense. Got a lot for my buck with three bands. I had seen Bleu Karma before, they are good. But, where has the Siri Dyal Band been hiding. They were great. I thought they could have been the main attraction. Hope they come back again. I was ab le to get a free CD, that was nice. I love them! They were just my style.

Liked your establishment, especially liked the size. So many of the bars are so small, you really feel like you are at a concert when you're at Fusion. Great sound too. Just the right volume. I'll be listening to the radio to see what's coming again and I'll be there.

You guys should be written up in the paper or Impact Weekly, maybe you have and I just missed it. See Ya!
