Siri Dyal, is pronounced phonetically, “city” d – all. The name simply means
“great mercy and compassion, Siri Dyal is not one persons name in the band, it
is the meaning behind the motion and the special, new, unique energy that is the
four piece band Siri Dyal. The band formed early in the spring of 2002 in
Dayton Ohio. Siri Dyal Kaur, a native southern Californian, toured in
the Midwest and met first Wes Claggett who was then an apprentice engineer at a
local recording studio in Kettering Ohio, after a recording session, Wes
asked Siri if she would like to form a band, because he liked what he was
hearing. Next in line was Robb Bass Taylor, the then duo found Rob in an open
mic in Dayton, “Chucks Jazz Lab”. After a full year of writing and playing, the
band decided to head back west to California Siri’s hometown, Los Angeles,
and just in time to complete the four piece, with the eclectic sound and style of
Terrence Ervan who came to the band through here say of an audition. Late
2004 Siri Dyal has finished recording their debut CD, with further mixing,
mastering, and artwork, Siri Dyal releases their debut CD on Sirius Rechords,
“We R Here” in 2006. Siri, with her background in Jazz, supplies the vocals
with a hard edge, with a sweet melody, conscious, thought provoking, question
asking, and demanding the response, adding to the mixture on guitars is Wes,
with his southern Midwest edgy nostalgic, edgy, raw, refined, new innovative,
dynamically brilliant. On the Bass, Rob, Bass Taylor, with a style all of his own,
with roots in funk fusion and experimental tones and playing strategy and
structure, he is the funk in their funky. Perfectly complimenting all the eclectic
styles is the 4th and final member of Siri Dyal, Terence, or as the band calls
him “T” Time, a percussive genius, and sight to see live TT brings a whole
dimension to Siri Dyal that sets the band apart with the wide use of cultural
drum patterns. To sum up a band or experience such as Siri Dyal in a short
biography is just not humanly possible. If one thing be the most important factor
to get across to you who read these words, it would be, the unique attention to
the sound, structure, texture, tone, deliverance, of their musical, dramatically
presented, cohesion of sound into their musical fusion. This is a real band that to
fully appreciate, they must be seen live, this is where the “experience “comes
from in “experience Siri Dyal”. For more in depth individual biographical
